The Ingenico i6580 project was my baby and the first development project I managed from concept to deployment. This project demanded a focus on information architecture to provide a seamless user experience for English and Spanish speaking casino patrons.
Develop a POS application for the Ingenico i6580 series device that supports casino based Credit and Debit Cash Advance transactions.
I had full reign on this project to research, demo, and select the hardware I felt best to develop this product. While it's always a challenge learning the software limitations of new hardware, I was able to foster strong relationships with the Ingenico development team to ensure my vision for the product was attainable.
Performing in-depth user testing allowed this dynamic little device to intuitively guide customers through the transaction process while pushing and pulling data from the casino floor to remote servers within just a few milli-seconds.
The major hurdle encountered during this project stemmed from a communication-based issue requiring an extended amount of troubleshooting in order to remedy. By isolating and identifying the issue, I was able to provide our developers with the answers needed to fix the issue and move the product from BETA to full release status.
